NSW Government Media Release

On 23 September 2020 the NSW Government announced that it is going to extend the operation of the Commercial & Retail Leasing Code of Conduct so that it will now expire on 31 December, 2020.

The Code was due to expire on 25 October 2020 but in order to provide continued support to struggling businesses the Government has extended the Code’s operation until the end of 2020.

The land tax concession which was also previously available for eligible landlords who reduced rents between April and September will also be extended to apply to eligible landlords who reduce rent of commercial and residential tenants between October and December 2020.
