I was admitted as a solicitor in 1980 and have been working in private practice continuously since then. I have had the privilege of serving as a committee member and office bearer of the St George-Sutherland Law Society.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in large litigation matters across various courts, including several cases in the High Court of Australia, as well as numerous matters in the Supreme and District Courts, Family Court, and other courts and tribunals in New South Wales.
I have represented numerous large organizations, including Australian subsidiaries of major multinational corporations, nationwide public companies, a Local Government Council, franchisors, commercial and retail landlords and a variety of small business operators and individuals. I take pride in assisting clients with structuring their personal affairs including coordinating and implementing complex estate planning.
My unique and broad range of experience enables me to assist clients in a wide variety of matters, and I enjoy sharing this expertise with other lawyers in the firm as they conduct their cases. I find fulfillment in helping clients achieve their goals, whether they involve buying or selling businesses, drafting business documentation, making appropriate provisions in Wills for family members, or resolving complex commercial issues.
Today, my main areas of practice include:
– Business & Commercial Law
– Commercial & Industrial Leasing
– Property – Residential, Industrial & Commercial
– Business structures (trusts, companies, etc.) and business documentation
– Franchising (for franchisors and franchisees)
– Commercial Litigation
– Wills, Estate Planning & Deceased Estates
Why did I become a lawyer? Having grown up in a household with my father being a leading local lawyer I had an interest in the law from my childhood days. I wanted to help people achieve their personal goals and I felt being a lawyer and practising in the areas of law that I do helps me achieve that goal and gives me enormous job satisfaction.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time playing golf and have been fortunate to have had holidays incorporating golf course destinations around the world. I am also a dedicated Cronulla Sharks supporter, although it hasn’t done my health any favours, suffering plenty of stressful moments, in particular, in the last minute or so of the 2016 grand final when the porch light was finally turned off!
